لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ١
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh[1],
Tafsir Notes
[1] Allah had given Quraysh the honor of being guardians of the Holy Ka‘bah, which allowed them to travel in peace without fear of being harmed.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ١
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh[1],
[1] Allah had given Quraysh the honor of being guardians of the Holy Ka‘bah, which allowed them to travel in peace without fear of being harmed.
إِۦلَٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ ٢
secure in their winter and summer journeys[2].
[2] i.e., their trading caravans would travel south to Yemen in winter and north to the Levant in summer.
فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٣
Let them worship the Lord of this [Sacred] House[3],
[3] i.e., the Ka‘bah.
ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٖ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ ٤
Who fed them against hunger and made them secure against fear[4].
[4] The people of Quraysh were blessed with provision and security probably because of the prayer of Abraham. See 14:35-37
